The Transylvania Cricket Club Website
A great set of lads who have two things in common: they love cricket and they live in Romania. They began playing matches in the summer of 2006, and interest in their matches and the game has grown steadily since then. They certainly know how to look after their guests.

Carmel & District Cricket Club Website.
This club is a huge supporter of eastern European cricket and have regularly toured there. They play in the Readers Romida North Wales cricket league. The first team are currently in Division Two and the second team in Division Five. The club also play friendly fixtures on Sundays and have three junior teams; Under 11’s, Under 13’s and Under 15’s.

Details of the first ever Carmel Invitational EuroTwenty20 tournament 2008.

This featured the national teams of Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Poland, Russia and Slovakia and was supported by the International Cricket Council (ICC Europe).

"Penguins Stopped Play" by Harry Thompson
One of the funniest cricket books I've read. He mentions his team beat Malaysia and it got me thinking......
If you like cricket you'll love this. I don't think a page went by without me laughing out loud. The author invented the comedy TV programmes
'Have I Got News For You' and 'Never Mind The Buzzocks'.

"Slogging The Slavs" - a great book by Angus Bell re-telling his epic road trip around central and eastern Europe on his pursuit of his debut cricketing century accompanied by an infant ghost for support.
From tournaments on ice in Estonia to university leagues in the crumbling Crimea; from a Croatian military island to communist Belarus, Slavs are playing the Englishman's game. Scotsman Angus sets off in his Škoda to smack them all for six.

Steve Roberts Website. He very kindly wrote our tour song 'Play the Game' DOWNLOAD
Steve played a gig in Southport with Andy White to help raise money for our tour.
We wanted it dumb and sing-alongable and it is certainly that!

"Digging into the World of Cricket"

An interesting article about Saif ur Rehman, the founder of cricket in Bulgaria.
Taken from The Sofia Echo (27th November 2006 by Kristy Drake).

A great hotel with the friendliest staff located in the centre of Varna (Bulgaria) right next to the fountain and very near the cathedral. It was Marietta who started all this. Her friend Lachezar plays for the Bulgarian team. Out of all the hotels in Varna this is my favourite.

A link to an interesting thread discussing the setting up of an expats cricket team in Varna, Bulgaria.
We get a mention or two (thanks Andy).
